It is almost bizarre how great Gap jeans have been recently. For a store that has an underabundance of fabulous clothes for the fashionably inclined, they have amazing jeans. I recently bought three more pairs. A wide leg trouser jean in a dark wash for my wide leg and heels mood, a skinny brown-green pair to mix it up and a capri skinny denim in a faded 70’s blue (cropped legging jeans – faded indigo wash). I LOVE them all.
One thing to keep in mind, with the legging jeans, both cropped and not, each wash/color is not the same fit or fabric. For instance the cropped legging jean in a soft blue wash is yummy soft, delicious and forgiving in size. I have a size 30 waist and I wear the size 6/28-inch waist. On the other side, the brown-green are a bit stiff and I have to wear a size 8/29-inch waist.
As for the trouser jean, it is super comfortable and I wear a size 6/28-inch waist, although I will have my tailor remove the side pockets and sew down the pocket opening so they won’t gape at my hip. I will also hem them, but that is a given. As a side note, wide leg trouser jeans look so very much better with casual heels, platforms or wedges.
