I seek perfection. I live by it, but understand it cannot be a constant. I tell this to my clients when discussing the color black. More often than not, a black dress or top washes a person out. For those, I eliminate the garments that put black near their face. For those that do not get washed out, I bring up the topic of perfection. “It’s not that you shouldn’t wear black, it’s just not the best. It’s not your perfect color. It doesn’t bring out your eyes or refresh your skin or hair. This doesn’t mean never wear black, but keep it to a minimum. Instead let’s focus on bringing in more of the colors that liven your appearance.”
One color that seems to inspire everyone’s hair, eyes and skin to sparkle is forest green. I adore this shade, yet where the hell is it? It seems designers and brands are hoarding it away in secret, letting only the occasional misfit verdant garment escape on their own backs, as seen on Katie Holmes in Holmes & Yang. How dare actresses turn designers keep all the deep green to themselves! Inspired, I tossed and tussled to find the best dark green items available. Why be green with envy when you can be green in style?
