Journee Shoes Review: My Go-To Affordable Summer Sandals

I almost never recommend a “budget brand,” especially when it comes to shoes! But Journee’s affordable summer sandals truly inspired me with both their comfort and style. I also know this post will be quite the crowd-pleaser for my readers watching their wallets.

Discovering Journee Collection Shoes

As many of you know, I steer clear of inexpensive shoes because footwear tends to show wear and tear the fastest, and inexpensive shoes often deteriorate after just a couple of wears. Generally, when I’m shopping online for my clients it is easy to skip over the cheaper shoes because they don’t draw my eye. They are often just copying a more expensive shoe style anyhow, so I always recommend the original instead of the knockoff so I can ensure longevity for my readers and clients. But I have a funny story about Journee Collection shoes…

Often, when I’m shopping for a specific style of shoes for a client that is difficult to find, the only brand making it is Journee. This used to frustrate me because I only wanted to recommend mid to high-end footwear, but I often had no choice because Journee shoes were the only brand making what I needed, and they have plentiful styles in wide sizes. For example, Journee is the only brand making olive green leather booties with a block heel of 3 inches or less that are available at a store with a good return policy!

It became an inside joke with myself. Every time a shoe search struggle ended with Journee as the final option, I would say to myself, “You again.” My irritation finally gave way to gratitude. As I always tell my clients, it’s not about the price, it’s about the item.

Journee Shoes Review

Let’s start with the con. Can you, the wearer, tell that the materials used by Journee are inexpensive? Yes. The minimal weight of the shoe gives it away, and they don’t have a ton of support. But it’s not visibly apparent to those who aren’t wearing the shoes. And can I just add that some of the most expensive shoes do not have support (I am looking at you, Manolo Blahnik).

With that said, Journee shoes are super duper comfortable and well-constructed. The man-made materials Journee uses are soft and never irritate or rub my foot the wrong way. So they may not offer a ton of support, but they do feel amazing. Most of Journee’s shoes feel like you’re wearing nothing at all. They are bendy, soft, and lightweight.

They are also pretty durable. I accidentally got tricked into doing a little hike (long story) in one of the affordable summer sandals featured below and they performed beautifully! Comfort, style, and durability? Color me shocked.

And can I just mention again how much I love that Journee offers so many styles in wide sizes?! So needed!

I know these are a knockoff, but many of you will appreciate the lower price for such a chic and versatile shoe. And it’s olive green y’all! I could never find enough olive green footwear until I accepted Journee into my life.

Con: This affordable summer sandal doesn’t have a lot of padding, but then again neither does the original shoe.

This is a super comfortable heel that is great for casual wear, from midi dresses to cropped wide-leg jeans. It comes in a series of different colors, but I like to pair this baby blue shoe with all the different shades of blue jeans.

Con: None that I can think of.

People don’t realize just how versatile a yellow shoe is year-round. Wear this fabulous shoe to work this summer.

Con: You might want a little more padding than it offers.

Serlina Pleated Slide Sandals In Foil

These are my favorite affordable summer sandals ever made!!! These crazy comfortable babies are the sandals I accidently hiked in. They have just enough padding and they stay on your foot. Did you hear that? These are stylish slides that actually stay on your feet! I cannot recommend these enough.

Con: The leather underneath my toes is wrinkling a teensy bit after I did that hike in them, but I don’t care. You should still buy them.

July Globe Kitten Heels In Faux Leather

You may recognize these sandals from my Farm Rio review. I absolutely love how versatile and stylish these summer sandals are. This is such a special sandal this season. I adore the modest heel height and super comfy straps across the toes and foot. You can spot these slides in a couple of my daily looks, like this one, because I love them THAT much.

Con: You can feel the cheaper price in the minimal cushion. If the shoe had a little bit more padding, it would be absolute perfection.
